Today on No Falling Word, Peter and John have been brought before the authorities, and commanded to stop teaching and spreading the gospel. Under threat, Peter and John must now decide whether to obey man, or follow God.
This week on No Falling Word, we will conclude with part 2 of our message, as Peter lays out the plan for eternal salvation in Christ. Peter tells the rulers and priests that Jesus was sent by God, and IS God. That in rejecting Jesus, they have rejected God. Therefore, by accepting Jesus, they are accepting God.
On No Falling Word, Peter and John have told the gathered crowd about Christ’s resurrection and identity as the Messiah. Now they’re in hot water with the rulers and high priests of Jerusalem, who arrest them, demanding to know by what or whose power this lame man outside the temple gate has been healed.
Peter and John have just demonstrated Christ’s healing power, having healed a lame man who is now able to walk. Peter explains to the astonished crowd that this is so much more than “just a miracle,” and why that should matter to them.
Every miracle we witness in this life is a foreshadowing of a great, ultimate restoration to come. This week on No Falling Word, we’ll learn that one day, God will do on a massive scale, what he did for one needy man at the temple gate, thousands of years ago… He’ll heal every wound and make all things new.
On No Falling Word, we’ll learn how the account of a crippled man, healed by the power of Jesus’ name, is really a parable that reflects the entire human condition. Tune in as we discover that God is at work today, just as he was in the disciples’ time, healing and restoring those who’ve lost hope.
We tend to think of church in terms of services and meeting spaces. But for the very first Christians, church was more about meals than it was about meetings. This week on No Falling Word, we’ll continue through our study in the book of Acts as we discover that dinner parties can be deeply spiritual!
On No Falling Word, we’ll look at one of humanity’s most pervasive problems - loneliness. Join us for a message entitled “Belonging Together,” as we discover that the cure for loneliness is wrapped up one, powerful Greek word, and in God’s perfect design for how the church should function.
If there’s one, major problem with modern day church plants, it’s that so many are forsaking the faithful, sound teaching of God’s Word. But as believers, we need teaching like we need food and water. This week on No Falling Word, we’ll study Acts chapter 2 as we learn what the church is truly called to be.
